'Upriver Downriver' Exhibition at Maitland Regional Art Gallery

Painting along the Hunter River at Morpeth

I’m sure you’ve already heard about the mammoth group exhibition coming up at the beloved Maitland Regional Art Gallery starting this month! Words cannot express the sheer excitement I feel to have been invited to participate in this remarkable event! The opportunity to showcase my work alongside such an exceptional collective of artists feels like a dream come true. It's truly a pinch-me moment that I am deeply grateful for.

In the Hunter Valley, we are so lucky to have the beautiful Hunter River flowing through our region, a waterway that holds such a profound significance for all those within its reach. From the traditional Wonanura people who cherished its existence, to the era of colonial settlement when ships traversed from Sydney, and up to the present day, where it supports the endeavours of cattle farmers in Merriwa, horse studs in Scone, vineyards in Pokolbin, and serves as a backdrop for countless recreational activities along its vast length.

I am beyond proud to be a part of this incredible exhibition that pays tribute to this remarkable waterway, and I invite you to join us on opening night. I've listed details about the gallery and dates below, or visit the MRAG website.

Exhibition dates: 10th June – 13th August
Opening night event: Friday 23rd June 6-8pm.
