Magical May! Two exciting group shows exploring our amazing Australian landscape.

There must be something brewing in the water, as May is looking like a busy yet exciting month.

I have two exciting group exhibitions happening.

First up is at the Moree Gallery and titled “Infinite Space’.
It features the work of 8 landscape painters including myself.

FEATURING ARTISTS –

Lucy Hersey, Alexandra Plim, Matt James, Liesl Mott, Margaret Dix, Sally Falkiner, Rebecca Rath, Sarah Bishop

Opening Friday 6th May 2022 at 10am

It is in conjunction with the festival ‘Moree on a Plate’.

The new work exhibited depicts the view from a road trip we took in January 2022. After years of drought, we were enthralled at the lush pastures and abundant grasses which were growing after the recent rain. We pulled over somewhere near Ballimore, near Dubbo, to capture what we saw. This suite of oil paintings explores this experience.

Please contact Gig at the gallery on 0427529116 for more information and a catalogue.

It’s going to be a cracker of a show!

Next up is a biggin’. This group show has been a while in the making and I’m really looking forward to the opening. It’s the brainchild of Elissa Emerson, Director, Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre (MRAC) and is in collaboration with the new Singleton Arts and Cultural Centre and the Wollemi National Park.
This collab occurred last May when all artists participated with MRAC Artist in Residence program.
Three (of the five) artists Marie Mansfield, Mark Dober and I went out to seven various sites within the Wollemi and responded to the landscape in our chosen media.

I’ll write more about the MRAC Artist in Residence (AIR) experience soon.

The opening will be over two nights.

May 13th Friday night at the new Singleton Arts and Cultural Centre and
May 14th Saturday night at Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre.

A time to celebrate with loads of champers!

Please contact the MRAC on (02) 6549 3800 or artcentre@muswellbrook.nsw.org,au for more information.

More about the MRAC AIR experience to come soon.

Yours in art,

Bec xoxo
