Welcome 2022!

Fields of Gold, Thistle Hill, Hunter Valley, oil on canvas, 120 x 180 cm

The year is now in full swing. School has returned from Summer break, tomorrow I harvest the merlot and I'm thrilled to say that I have just received notification that my work, Fields of Gold, Thistle Hill Hunter Valley, is a finalist for Muswellbrook Art Prize. I'm over joyed and honored to be selected for this prestigious prize and feel like I have already won. (Image above)

I won't keep you very long but before I go I should tell you about some exhibitions for the coming year.

May 2022 is a big month with a group show at Moree Gallery. I also am participating in another large group exhibition which is across two galleries and in conjunction with New South Wales National Parks. This exhibition is part of the artist in residence program I participated in last year with Muswellbrook Regional Art Gallery. The brand spanking new gallery at Singleton Council will also host the exhibition. The five artists exhibiting have created work in a response to the Wollemi National Park. It promises to be an amazing event.

Finally, I have a solo at Art Systems Wickham in September. The work shown will be based on a wonderful trip we took on New Years Day to the gold fields of Grawin and Lightning Ridge. Dusty pinks, burnt oranges and dreamy sage greens will be lusciously applied on canvases. Yum! (Photos below)

Yours in art,
Bec xoxo
