“Rebecca captures the essence of the landscape, focusing on Coba Point and Berowra Creek, New South Wales. Painting en plein air, she creates oil sketches that inform larger works or stand alone. Her impasto technique, with thick, textured paint, reflects both her deep connection to nature and the act of painting itself. Inspired by the rugged environment, she explores contrasts between paint application and emotion, aiming to evoke a visceral, tactile response. She wants viewers to feel drawn to touch the paint—bridging the gap between the physicality of her work and the landscape it represents.”
